Israel, Syria and Turkey: Israeli Forces Conduct Aerial Attacks, Blame Turkey for Expanding Influence

By April 3, 2025No Comments

Description: Israeli air forces have conducted bombing runs on sites near Syria’s capital Damascus and various other military bases as Israel blamed Turkey for attempting to turn Syria into their vassal state and a protectorate. Israel has had growing concerns over the Islamic forces which toppled Bashar al – Assad and considers the current HTS regime in Syria a considerable threat to their national security. The bombing runs came after Turkey recently announced their intention to turn the T – 4 aerial base operational and dispatch other air defense systems to ensure its infrastructural operability. Turkey has solidified its ties with the current Syrian regime and blamed Israel for being the largest obstructionist for peace and stability in the Middle East.

Impact: Turkey and Israel were set upon a collision path over Syria ever since the ousting of former President Bashar al – Assad. Israel, with the occupation of southwestern territories in Syria would preemptively attempt to mitigate potential risk from Syria’s current regime. Turkey’s goal is to ensure their firm grip of power over the HTS government and enhance their regional influence in an attempt to ensure that Syria wouldn’t pose a threat of any kind in the future. Turkey’s recent announcement to establish ground presence in areas of interest within Syria have prompted Israel to militarily respond which could inflate confrontation between the two countries, directly or through proxies in the mid to long – term.
